Walker Video

As promised earlier here is a video of Luke walking across the room with his walker.

On another note just tonight Mom and I think Luke might have taken his first real steps.  I was tying my shoes in the kitchen while Luke was cruising near the dishwasher.  Next thing I know Luke is standing next to me holding onto my jeans.  I don't think he crawled over to me but if in fact he was on his feet from one place the other I'd say Luke would have to take 2 - 3 steps.

Dog Food?!

After I pick Alyce up from school, I usually feed Jake, our dog, when we get home. Today was no different. I fed Jake and Luke sat by and watched Jake eat. I walked into the other room to do something and when I came back, Luke was still sitting there, but he had something in his mouth. Apparently, he decided Jake's food looked good and he wanted to try some. I quickly stuck my finger in Luke's mouth and pulled out a piece of Jake's dog food. Who knew Luke would actually pick up a piece of Jake's food and eat it!

Happy Hungry Baby

While Mom, Alyce, and I were eating dinner at Bob Evans Luke was busy eating a spoon. Well he ate more than a spoon. He ate some mashed potatos and nibbles of biscuit. Luke also flirted with the elderly couple behind us and the waitress. Luke is always happy to meet new people and always seems to spread his happiness to others. Luke, you have a gift.

Food

Luke is both a lucky and unlucky guy.  He is unlucky because he is the second child and his needs and development can fall to the wayside because life demands attention.  The area that I'm thinking about is the food department.  When Alyce was Luke's age she was eating quite a bit of solid food.  She was probably eating three meals a day with a bottle to wash it down.  Solid food being the pureed stuff for babies.  Luke on the other hand gets about two solid meals a day.  He usually misses the third because we are on the move doing something.

Luke, however, is also very lucky.  Luke unlike his sister gets bits of people food.  We've given him nibbles of bread, meat, french fries, and ice cream just to name a few.  When Alyce was his age we wouldn't have dreamed of feeding her such complex foods.  I'm guessing we were new parents and thought that Alyce would have a food allergy to something and grow a third arm.  Now that we are second time around parents most of those fears have passed.

For the record ice cream or custard is Luke's favorite food.  From the first little taste he was a fan and now when he sees me with a bowl full of ice cream he will cross the floor, climb up the chair, and look at me expectantly with his mouth wide open.

Walking!

OK, so he's not walking by himself yet, but he did walk across the room with the help of a push toy. Here's a picture. A video will come in the future.

Potty Training

So potty training is starting up with Luke.  He's 3 1/2 and well lots of kids younger than him are already going down that path.  He'...
